“I make art to show my soul that I am listening.” - Author Unknown “Creating artwork allows your mind to be in a safe place while it contemplates the tougher issues you are dealing with.” - George E. Miller Zak is currently enrolled at Saint Martin’s University in the Masters of Arts Counseling program and joined the Olympia Therapy team in August 2025 as a Clinical Intern. He received a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona in 2007, and a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Studies from Yale University in the year 2000. In the years since graduate school he has worked in education as teacher and administrator, in the mental health field, and as a custom carpenter. Zak has a background in working with young people with diverse neuro-identities, and enjoys practicing the collaborative, creative and respectful acceptance that creates safe and growth-rich spaces and relationships. As an intern, he acknowledges a readiness to learn new skills around play and relational centered therapies at Olympia Therapy and is proud to bring with him humor and a dedication to mindfulness. In his free time, Zak enjoys growing food, building toys and games, talking about books, movies and music with his wife and kids, coaching soccer, and making life as lovely as possible for all the lifeforms nearby, which includes a couple cats, a dog, several chickens and as many pollinators as possible.
