Kate is a counseling intern currently completing her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at New Mexico Highlands University, her home state. She provides therapy to teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families in Olympia, WA, where she offers both in-person and telehealth sessions. Kate’s interests include supporting clients through grief and loss, trauma and complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, life transitions, and exploring the unique experiences of neurodivergence, including autism in older women. Her therapeutic orientation is grounded in a person-centered and trauma-informed approach, with a focus on creating a safe, collaborative, and compassionate environment where clients can feel understood and empowered. She also utilizes Internal Family Systems methods when helpful. As she continues her professional development, Kate looks forward to expanding her training in somatic therapies such as EMDR, as well as play therapy and sandtray approaches, to deepen her work with trauma and self-discovery. She believes therapy is a space where people can uncover their strengths, gain clarity, and move toward meaningful growth and connection in their lives. Outside of being a therapist, Kate loves hanging out with family and friends, nature, live music, reading, and writing.
