AutPlay Therapy Certification Training

A 2-day intensive

This is a 2-day intensive AutPlay® Certification training with Dr. Robert Grant, the creator of AutPlay® Therapy. Dr. Grant is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, and Certified Autism Specialist.  Dr. Grant specializes in play therapy techniques with children, adolescents, adults, and families.  Dr. Grant also specializes in working with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Neurodevelopmental Disorders, and Developmental Disabilities and is the creator of AutPlay® Therapy, an Autism treatment using play therapy, behavioral therapy, and relationship development approaches. Dr. Grant operates the AutPlay Therapy Clinic in Springfield, MO. He has authored several publications and written four books on the subjects of play therapy, Autism, and ADHD including the bestselling AutPlay Therapy for Children and Adolescents on the Autism Spectrum. Dr. Grant conducts various presentations and workshops on topics such as play therapy and Autism. Dr. Grant has conducted trainings and workshops throughout the United States and internationally and has presented at various area and national conferences including the American Counseling Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, and the Association for Play Therapy.

 

This training is appropriate for Mental Health Professionals, Play Therapists, Social Workers, Psychologists, and School Counselors. This is an in-person/contact training worth 16 CE Hrs. Introduction to Child-Centered Play Therapy

This course is for those wanting the theory and therapeutic processes of conducting evidenced based Child Centered Play Therapy to children. Children are the foundation to the world's future.  In every culture, children engage in different forms of play.  Through this seminar, you will learn the theories, strategies and applications of play therapy in clinical sessions.  Gain understanding of play therapy and neurobiology and its therapeutic impact on children. 

 

Mental health counselors, school counselors, childcare providers and graduate students can all benefit from this training.

The Healing Power of Sandtray Therapy

Description: Sandtray is a way of nonverbal-expression that allows for healing and processing in a non-threatening environment. Participants will learn theoretical foundations, skills and techniques for sandtray therapy. Practical applications and how to use sandtray with a variety of populations will also be addressed. 

Learning Objectives:​

  • Participants will:

    • 1) Learn appropriate use and technique of sandtray therapy with a variety of populations

    • 2) Demonstrate the ability to create a sandtray case conceptualization and treatment plan 

    • 3) Be able to justify sandtray as a treatment modality 

    • 4) Utilize theory to recognize themes in sandtray treatment

This seminar provides excellent training for mental health counselors, school counselors, childcare providers, and graduate students.
