The Power of Camp
Empowering Youth Through Camp Access
Youth Empowerment Network (YEN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Bellevue, Washington. We are proud to partner with Olympia Therapy to help reduce the financial barriers that prevent youth from attending camp—especially those navigating anxiety, social stress, sensory sensitivities, or big emotions.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 through the Fun Run, providing scholarships so more youth and teens can attend Sense the Adventure Day Camps at Olympia Therapy and Camp Sealth on Vashon Island.
Why Camp Matters
We believe camp is more than just fun—it’s a powerful space for growth, healing, and connection.
Through day camps, residential programs, therapy groups, and teen leadership opportunities, youth build:
-
Confidence
-
Meaningful friendships
-
Emotional resilience
-
Essential life skills
Many of the youth we serve—including neurodivergent youth, anxious youth, youth in care, and those who benefit from additional support—need more individualized, supportive environments than traditional camps provide in order to truly thrive.
Expanding Access & Impact
This partnership is rooted in a shared mission: ensuring that every child has access to supportive, inclusive camp experiences, regardless of financial circumstances.
If funds raised exceed our $25,000 goal, additional contributions will support:
-
YEN’s year-round scholarship fund for camps and programs
-
Play, Heal, Grow: Disaster Relief, which provides trauma-informed play and creative arts support for children and families affected by disasters
