About the event

Child Parent Relational Therapy Skill is an Evidence-Based mental health treatment group for Parents, effective with children experiencing social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.

In this class, I will be teaching you the skills of therapeutic play and the neurobiology behind it.  This will help you understand how and why your child is struggling and give you scaffolding and confidence around what you can do for your child.

The Child-Parent Relational Therapy Skills Class deepens Child Parent relationships and sharpens Child Parent communication skills.  As a result, children build confidence and independence, decrease the intensity of anxiety and experience fewer meltdowns.  Parents will feel less frustration & helplessness and will increase joyful interactions with their child.

This course is perfect for:

  • Parents who have read all the parenting books and feel like nothing has worked: because we will utilize all that knowledge you have gained and search for the missing pieces.
  • Parents who have put their children on waiting lists for a therapist, but your family needs relief now: because you will get to be an effective parent for your child’s treatment right now.
  • Your child is currently in treatment because this course will supplement their current therapeutic work supporting treatment outcomes.
  • The parent who has said “I try to connect with my kid, but all they want to do is play video games,” because this course is all about connection.

The course consists of 2 hours of online time with me and homework (about 1.5 hours).

The online portion will include, lectures, discussions, and roleplay participants sharing videos, and giving feedback.

Homework consists of skills practice (specifically in the form of 30 Special Play Time), reading (Usually 3-5 pages), and reviewing skills practice videos.
